Die Kersvaders (lit. “The father Christmases”) is an Afrikaans one-act play by Marlene van Niekerk (1954-).

The original text

The play was first performed at the 1977 USAT Dramafees in Stellenbosch. The piece was awarded the USAT Trofee as best a commendable text and Van Niekerk was awarded the Henderson Trofee as best playwright. The text was published in Tydskrif vir Letterkunde (16(4):1-18) in 1978.
