Original name of ''[[The Island]]'', first performed at the [[The Space]] (Cape Town) under this name in July 1973 because of the political circumstances in South Africa and was only called ''[[The Island]]'' when it went to London. In all the other venues where this production ran the audience had to watch ten minutes of the opening digging ceremony, but at ''[[The Space]]'' (Cape Town) this was lengthened to twenty minutes.
