Die Basics van Lepel-Lê is a cabaret by Marc Hosten (19**-2011).

Sometimes written Die Basics van Lepel Lê.

The original text

Subtitled "'n Bosberaad aanbeveel vir Volwassenes", it comments on the first democratic elections in South Africa (1994).

The text won the Vita Award for "Best new script" in the Free State in 1994.

Performance history in South Africa

1994: Performed in the Sterrewag Teater (Observatory Theatre) in Bloemfontein from 3-26 February, directed by Gerben Kamper with Pieter Brand. Brand won a Vita Award (Free State) in the category "Best Performance of the Year by an Actor in a Leading Role" and was nominated for the national award in this category.
