Die Appel ("The apple") is a play by Hennie Aucamp (1934-2014).

The original text

Written when Aucamp was only sixteen years old, and - much to Aucamp's surprise - the play has often been published in various collections. First published in the collection Wolraad Woltemade, en ander eenbedrywe (1969), it then appeared in Die Storm en ander eenbedrywe (ed. P.G. Nel, Perskor, 1972), Boomhuis, Droomhuis en ander eenbedrywe (ed. Temple Hauptfleisch and Jan Taljaard, published by Pat Lubbbe (Edms) Bpk, 1970s), and Klein Begin in die Drama (edited by J.B. Spies, De Jager-HAUM, 1976).
