Translations and adaptations

Usually translated into English as The Gamblers or simply Gamblers.

The play was seemingly adapted by Winifred Katzin and published as Diamond Cuts Diamond in Short Plays from Twelve Countries, a collection of English one act plays selected and edited by Winifred Katzin (London: George G Harrap and Co., 1937).

Katzin's English text, described by Gosher (1988) as a "heavy-handed adaptation of Nikolai Gogol’s text", was later also published as a playtext by DALRO, 1969.
