De Vadervloek, of Misdaad en Wroeging ("The curse of the father, or crime and anguish") is a play in 7 tableaux by Theodoor van der Stempel.

Not to be confused with Misdaad en Wroeging a play in 2 acts by P.C.J. Meys.

The original text

Based on a novel by Jan David de Vries (1819-1855), freely adapted by Theodoor van der Stempel. Published in Kampen by L. van Hulst, 1871.

Performance history in South Africa

1872: Performed in Dutch by Aurora II on 4 May in the Germania Hall, Cape Town, with De Weddenschap (Brink).

1875: Performed in Dutch by Aurora II on 8 April in the Athenaeum Hall, Cape Town, with Een Avontuurtjie van Mijnheer Kikkerlib (T. van der Stempel).
