De Tovenaar, of De Geest in de Kast ("The sorcerer, or the ghost in the closet") is a Dutch play by Melt J. Brink

The title is also found as De Tovenaar or De Toovenaar.

The original text

Based on a poem, "De Conscrit", it was originally written for and performed by the Rederijkerskamer AuroraII in 1871.

1871: Performed by Aurora II on 8 June in the Germania Hall, Cape Town, as De Toovenaar, with Een Uurtje in een Schilders-Atelier (Houtkamp).
