A Dutch version of a French comedy in five acts by J-M Loaisel de Tréogate.

The orginal text
The original French play, La bisarrerie de la fortune, ou le jeune philosophe was first performed in the Theatre du Marais on 16 April 1793. Published by Gobelet, 1798, then in a new edition in 1799.

The Dutch text
Translated into Dutch with this title from the second, improved, French edition, by an unknown translator and published in Amsterdam by J. Doll in 1803.
Performance history in South Africa
