A Dutch version of a French comedy in five acts by J-M Loaisel de Tréogate.

La bisarrerie de la fortune, ou le jeune philosophe was first performed in the Theatre du Marais on 16 April 1793. Published by Gobelet, 1798, then in a new edition in 1799.

Performance history in South Africa

1818: Produced in Dutch by the amateur company Tot Nut en Vermaak on 12 September in their own theatre, with the one act comedy De Spraakloze (Von Kotzebue) as afterpiece.
