De Helleveeg ("the harpy") is a comedy in two acts by Adriaan Loosjes (1761-1818)[1]

Performance history in South Africa

1833: Performed on 10 August Door Yver Bloeit de Kunst in the African Theatre , with De Jeugd van Hendrik den Vyfde (Duval).

1836: Performed on 14 March by Vlyt en Kunst in the Cape Town Theatre , with Valmont de Saint Priest, of De Schipbreukeling (Van Haemstede).

1836: Performed on 29 October by the Stellenbosch amateur company Door Yver Vruchtbaar in the local amateur theatre, with De Graaf van Waltron, of De Subordinatie (Möller).

1855: Performed in the Garrison Theatre on Tuesday 12 June 1855 by Door Yver Bloeit de Kunst with Het Geheim (Vulpius) and Het Groot Ballet. The evening was in support of the "Patriotic Fund" for those affected by the Crimean War (see Balaclava Benefit Performances). The production was possibly repeated on 28 June.
