The original text

The only reference to the playwright or to a play by this name is found in F.C.L. Bosman (1980, p 472) and nothing can be found of an author called "P. Regland".

1879: Performed in Dutch as De Gebochelde by Aurora II in the Athenaeum Hall, Cape Town, on 28 August, with Bergen en Dalen (Benedix).

1879: Performed in Dutch as De Gebochelde, of De Moord in de Slotgracht van Tayhis by Aurora II, on 16 September in the Athenaeum Hall, with Niet of Graag (Andersen).
