In 1955 he went to the Staatsakademie für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna, Austria where he studied under Josef Witt, Viktor Graef and Erik Werba and passed the Staatliche Reifeprüfung after two years. Some time later he continued his studies under Maria Schultz-Dornburg in Salzburg and Adelaida Saraceni in Milan.  Meanwhile he had appeared on programmes of the BBC in London, on Radio Wien and as soloist with the Viennese Kammeroper. In 1955 he went to the Staatsakademie für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna, Austria where he studied under Josef Witt, Viktor Graef and Erik Werba and passed the Staatliche Reifeprüfung after two years. Some time later he continued his studies under Maria Schultz-Dornburg in Salzburg and Adelaida Saraceni in Milan.
