(1956-) Bilingual (Afrikaans/English) actor for stage, radio, TV and film.

Biography

Born in Upington in the Northern Cape, the youngest of 5 children, and grew up on the family farm Rooidam, Namibia and went to primary school in Bethanie.


Training

He completed a B.A at the University of Stellenbosch, Department of Drama , and a B.A. Honours degree in Drama at the University of Cape Town.

Stage roles

His stage career started in the 1980s and by the 1990s he was one of the leading bilingual performers in the country.

(CAPAB, 1983); Diepe Grond (Market Theatre and Baxter Theatre, 1985 and 1986); Not About Heroes, (Volute Productions at the Baxter Theatre and Upstairs at the Market, 1986); Whale Nation (The Black Sun and the Whale Well, 1989); Flight (Market Theatre, 1989) Nag, Generaal (Market Theatre, 1989); Speed-the-Plow (Upstairs at the Market, 1990); Faustus in Africa (Market Theatre and Grahamstown Festival 1995), Ubu and the Truth Commission (Grahamstown Festival 1997, international tour 2014); Boklied (KKNK, 1999?*); Boetman is die bliksem in!
