LYTTON, David (1927-*?). Expatriate South African novelist, poet, dramatist, actor and short-story writer. Born in Cape Town, he emigrated to Britain in 1948, although his novels and some of his plays retained South African settings. Plays include A Tale of Love, Alas; Mrs Adams, Mostly and Moses; Emergency Mark IV (all adaptations by himself of his own short stories) and Episodes of an Easter Rising. (See Gosher, 1988) [JH]
