David Kossoff [1]. (1919-2005). British actor.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Cecil Williams brought him out to star in The World of Sholom Aleichem in 1957. It co-starred Sarah Sylvia and Joyce Grant. He starred in the Reps production of Seidman and Son together with his son, Simon and Jenny Gratus at the Alexander in 1967. He starred in Big Night for Shylock which was staged at the Alexander in December 1968. It was directed by David Scase. Toerien-Rubin Company brought him, together with Cicely Courtneidge, Roger Livesey, Ursula Jeans, Jack Hulbert, Robertson Hare, and director Anthony Sharp from London to star in Oh, Clarence at the Civic Theatre circa 1970.
