(19*-1962) Actor. *** He fell ill during the rehearsal period of the Johannesburg REPS production of Under Milkwood in 1959. He never fully recovered and died of cancer in 1962, having made his final appearance for Leonard Schach in the revue, Beyond the Fringe, starring New Zealand-born Kerry Jordan and staged at the Hofmeyr and the Playhouse. In February 1962, Robert Lang organised a Benefit for him, a dinner-dance and cabaret, which help meet his medical bills. He died shortly after this and the balance of the proceeds went to the founding of the South African Theatre Benevolent Fund.
