Performance history in South Africa

Perinet's version was performed in Cape Town, again in a freely adapted Dutch version, in August 1853 by Door Yver Bloeit de Kunst, under the title De Nachtmerrie, of De Vampyr, alongside Eleonora van Rosalba .
