(1946-) Stage actor, translator and director. **Studied Drama at the University of Pretoria, later did an Honours degree in Directing under Robert Mohr, at the University of Cape Town. Co-founder (with Pieter Brand) of Dinkteater ("Think Theatre") in Pretoria. For them he directed a number of Afrikaans versions of Elizabethan and Jacobean plays (e.g. the Duchess of Malfi, *** ), as well more contemporary works by Ionesco and others. A number of original new Afrikaans plays were also produced, including Bloedlyn (197*) and Wie is Leopold? (197*) both by Temple Hauptfleisch (197*) and Die Duiwel, sy handlanger en die drie ligtekooie by Marlene van Niekerk. After completing his studies at the University of Cape Town, he joined the PACOFS drama company for a while as actor and director, doing **, ** and **.
