The actor manager [[Dalle Case]] started his own professional French theatre company in February 1848 in Cape Town.  Members were from the [[French Dramatic Artistes]] and included [[L. Vitor]], [[C. Crosset]] and [[X. Hus]].  First performance February 14, 1848.  They performed in the [[Hope Street Theatre]] (renamed to [[Sans Souci Theatre]] by Case).  Three performances were held in the [[Garrison Theatre]].  Programmes concentrated on [[vaudeville]] (''[[The Resources of Jonah]]''), dance, ballet and light farces in between, e.g. ''[[Baking and Roasting without Fire]]''.  This short-lived company broke up in March 1848 due to financial trouble.
