(17**-18**) Civil servant and supporter of theatre. He was the Civil Commissioner ("Siviele Kommissaris") in Stellenbosch and the founding patron of the first theatre performance in the Turf Clubhouse there in 1829 (the play performed was De Verstrooying). He became the formal patron of Het Nieuw Stellenbossche Toneel Gezelschap, under the motto Door Yver Vruchtbaar.
