This building was originally built as a **** in 1816, the foundation stone being laid by Sir Charles Somerset. Its halls were often used for theatrical and musical presentations. It later was to house the Drawing Room Theatre of Sefton Parry (1855-18**) and the Opera House (189*-19**).
