Comedians by Trevor Griffiths. A black comedy that explores the meaning and reasons behind people’s laughter. First performed ** First performed in South Africa by the Company in 1976, directed by Leonard Schach. This performance gave the Company its first serious brush with the censors and it was recommended that the play be banned. Despite attempts the banning was reversed and the production could finish its run at the Market Theatre.
