Christopher Seabrooke (19*-). Company director.

Biography

Chris was in the class of 1970 at Durban High School and was Academic Dux in that year. He has supported the School in a number of activities over the years including the building of Seabrooke's Theatre.

Chris is a director of numerous JSE listed companies. He is currently CEO of Sabvest, Chairman of Metrofile Holdings and Transaction Capital, Deputy Chairman of Massmart and a director of Brait, Datatec and Net1 UEPS Technologies.


Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He replaced Graham English as Brickhill-Burke’s financial advisor at His Majesty's Theatre in 1977.

He is a former Chairman of the South African State Theatre and Deputy Chairman of the inaugural National Arts Council of South Africa.

In 1988 he presented Double Act with Shirley Firth in association with PACT at the Windybrow and later at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre.
