In 1980 he played a lodger in the [[Troupe Theatre Company]] production of ''[[Metamorphosis]]'' at [[The People's Space]] and the [[Market Theatre]] (credited as [[Chas Unwin]] by Coudyzer).
 
 
 
In 1985 he wrote an experimental play, ''[[My Brother Parks]]'', performed that year.
 
 
 
Publications include "Cinema of Resistance: The Other Side of the Story" (with [[Colin Belton]]), in [[Johan Blignaut]] and [[Martin Botha]],  ''Movies, Moguls and Mavericks: a Study of South African Cinema 1979-1991'' ([[Showdata]], 1992).
 
 
 
In 2012 he created ''[[Orange Book]]'', a [[site responsive peformance]] work, and wrote a minor dissertation on the process for his Masters Degree in Theatre and Performance Practice at the [[University of Cape Town]].
