Charles Spolander

(17**-18**) Butcher and amateur actor. Also referred to as C. Spolander. Had a shop in Buitengracht street. A member of the Dutch society Tot Nut en Vermaak in Cape Town between 1843 and 1857, he apparently also performed a female role for James Lycett and Lycett's Company in Richard the Third (1849). Apparently his soft voice was ideal fior the role.
