In 19** he directed [?*] a (disastrous) production of The Dark is Light Enough in the Old Conservatoire of Music in Stellenbosch with students and staff. In spite of the failure Johnman and the cast asked Betty Freund to establish a proper theatre group in the old wine cellar at Libertas.
