In 2002-03 he was a Fulbright Professor in Drama at the Stellenbosch Drama Department in South Africa, where he taught Senior Acting, Film- and TV Acting, Theatre for Development and supervised a Senior Thesis Project.

While in Stellenbosch he directed The Kentucky Cycle, Wolf by the Ears (which he also wrote) and 9/11 A Day in The Life of A People (which he had developed in South Africa).

He also produced and directed a set of training films with the students called Three from Stellenbosch (three short films, modern retellings of The Trojan Women, Romeo and Juliet, and Three Sisters. All set in South Africa, and shot with students and staff from the Stellenbosch Drama Department.
