This is one man show originally written and performed by the Welsh actor-playwright Emlyn Williams and replicating Charles Dickens’s famous public readings.

Performance history in South Africa

1954: Brought to South Africa by Brian Brooke to perform at the Wits University Great Hall in September 1954.

1981: Williams visited South Africa again, marking the 30th anniversary of Emlyn Williams as Charles Dickens, this time presented by The Company at the Market Theatre and the Baxter Theatre.
