A six week festival of South African culture and arts held in London during April and May 2001. Opened with productions of [[Welcome Msomi’s Umabatha]] and ***’s ''[[Suip!]]'', the festival included a [[Freedom Day]] Concert in [[Trafalgar Square]], hosted by [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson_mandela Nelson Mandela] and ended with a gala concert in the [[Royal Festival Hall]] (entitled ''[[Freedom Too]]'' and directed by [[Janice Honeyman]]), featuring inter alia, [[Hugh Masekela]], [[Pieter-Dirk Uys]], [[Anthony Sher]] and  [[Marc Lottering]].
