The Reverend Cecil Tugman (18**-19**) Actor, director and inspirational Shakespeare lover.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

In 1936 he directed King Lear as the first Shakespeare to be done at the Little Theatre, Cape Town. He was also the person who brought the notion of a Shakespeare Circle to South Africa. He founded one in Bloemfontein in 1947 and later moved on to Pretoria, where a second Circle was founded.

He wrote the play Abraham My Love.
