After leaving school in 1995, he did children's theatre in productions such as Tom Sawyer, Sleeping Beauty, etc. He won 1st prize in the DALRO National Acting Competition in 1995. Participated in short-film productions with AFDA (the South African School of Film, Television and Dramatic Art. These films include Hai,Honeygun & Amazolo. Professional stage roles include Detective Mike Strydom in Malcolm Terry's Shear Madness (1997), Anton in Cedric Sundstrom's If this be Treason (1997), Malcolm in Megan Wilson's Macbeth (1998). His first feature film was Pure Blood (1999).
