An amateur society founded in 1947, with the aim to foster interest in musical theatre, and the works of Sir William Schwenk Gilbert [1] and Sir Arthur Seymour Sullivan [2] in particular. The Society has presented many operas or musical works to Cape Town audiences since then.

Current status

Productions

1947: The Yeomen of the Guard at the Cape Town City Hall

1967: Carousel.

1997: The Yeomen of the Guard at the Baxter Theatre

2010 Annie ; 2011: Fiddler on the Roof at the Artscape Opera House ; 2012 The Yeomen of the Guard (This production staged in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee).
