Cape Town Circus is a reference made to a company said to have been managed by a Mr Taylor, active in 1862. This is probably the Mr Taylor (fl. 1860's) who was a member of The Christy Minstrels troupe that also visited Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, as well as various smaller settlements in 1862. Hence the "Cape Town Circus" was probably not a reference to a circus per se, but more likely a reference to The Christy Minstrels troupe itself (or to some of the members).
