A reference is made to a Cape Town Circus, managed by a Mr Taylor, active in 1862. This is probably the Mr Taylor (fl. 1860's) who was a member of The Christy Minstrels troupe that also visited Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, as well as various smaller settlements in 1862. Hnece the "Cape Town Circus was probably no more than a reference to The Christy Minstrels troupe itself (or to some of the members).
