Camilla Waldman (1968-). Actress.


Biography

Born 22 February 1968. She was married to Jamie Bartlett and the couple had one son.


Youth

Training

Studied drama at the University of Cape Town Drama Department.


Career

She performed with the Jazzart Dance Theatre Company for two years.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Camilla has appeared on stage in productions such as Scenes from an Execution, Kafka Dances (Laager 1996), How I Learned to Drive (1998), Closer Laager 1998), Can't Pay? Won't Pay!, Dark Outsider, Crashing the Night (2000), Much Ado about Nothing (as Beatrice, 2007), Dutchman (2008).

She directed the comedy Sitting Ducks, August 2001.

Known for her role as Anne de Villiers in the SABC1 soapie Generations.

Awards, etc

Winner of the Fleur du Cap Theatre Award for Most Promising Student in 1990.

She received the national Vita Award for Best Supporting Actress, 1993-1994, for her role in Scenes from an Execution.

Nominated Fleur du Cap Can't Pay? Won't Pay! (best actress).

Nominated Vita Award (National) for Dark Outsider [actress of the year].
