Bryan Hill (19**-). Director, choreographer.

Biography

He was born in Zimbabwe and moved to South Africa in 1982.

Career

He became Assistant Director/Choreographer for NAPAC's Department of Musical Theatre headed by Geoffrey Sutherland in 1986 where he worked on over one hundred productions over the next eight years.

He was General Manager of the Teatro in 2007.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Productions for NAPAC include My Fair Lady, March of the Falsettos, Jesus Christ Superstar, Once on This Island, Christian! and the musical trilogy Sweet Charity, Sweeney Todd and Candide.

Since leaving Durban Bryan has choreographed Show Boat, The King and I and Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story.

He directed the 1994 PACT production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

He appeared in and acted as Dance Captain for the 1995 production of Crazy for You. For West Side Story he was Assistant Diector/Choreographer and re-staged it in Cape Town and Bloemfontein.

Bryan directed the national tour of Queen at the Opera, Ain't Misbehavin' for CAPAB and choreographed Oklahoma! for the State Theatre. Other projects were the Musical Staging for The Fantasticks and additional choreography for Fiddler on the Roof at the State Theatre.
