Afrikaans quarterly journal first published Autumn 2008 and launched at the Oude Libertas Theatre in Stellenbosch and at the 2008 Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees (KKNK). Originally edited by Carien Loubser, with the Karin Meiring as business manager, and published by New Media Publishing. In an editorial note Loubser claims that it has been launched as “’n nasionale saamtrekplek vir almal wat lief is vir musiek, teater, feeste, shows, boeke – kortom, die kunste in al sy verrykende vorme” (“a national gathering place for all who love music, theatre, festivals, shows, books – briefly, the arts in all their rich variety”). The first issues appears to be partly based on the format of glossies like De Kat, and similar in many respects to the equally new POMP 08, for it contains succinct but relatively substantive illustrated articles on various facets of the arts, mixed in with more gossipy short pieces on the contemporary.
