Boikie Mohlamme (1930-2014) was an artist and performer, and arts activist.

Born in Lefurutshane in Western Transvaal (now Northwest Province), he became a leading figure and mentor of talent in Soweto theatre, as well as film and TV. Marrried to actress Roseline Morapedi, and the copuple had three children.

As a director he did productions of Mmalonya

As a television performer he appeared in a number of SABC 2 TV dramas.

Also appeared in four films, Final Cut (1989), Warriors from Hell (1990), Taxi to Soweto (1991) and 'n Potvol Winter (1992)

He was a founder member of Performing Arts Workers' Equity (PAWE), which became the Creative Workers' Union of South Africa (CWUSA) in 2007.


Just before his death in 2014, he was involved as a mediatior between the producers and actors of the SABC TV soap Generations.
