Bly (Afrikaans). (The word could mean 'stay' or 'glad') Landscape art. Text by Gaerin Hauptfleisch. Performed at the Oudtshoorn Festival, 2013, directed by Gaerin Hauptfleisch. Landscape artist: Strijdom van der Merwe. Music: Schalk van der Merwe. With Stephanie Hough, Jan-Hendrik Opperman, Dean van der Ventel and Hein Poole. The production addresses those who have stayed, stayed behind or were just glad. What makes one glad and what makes you stay? And why are "to suffer" and "to confess" so close to stay/glad? The landscape becomes both background and set.
