Widely respected in South Africa's arts fraternity and abroad as a fine actor, he toured extensively in many of the company's productions. Among these were ''[[Asinamali]]'', ''[[Lion of the East]]'', ''[[Magic at 4 a.m]]'' ([[Johannesburg Civic Theatre]], 1993)  and ''[[Siyagiya]]'' (2012). He also had a role in the TV soap, ''[[Muvhango]]''.

The brother of Mbongeni Ngema, and one of the founder members of Committed Artists. Widely respected in South Africa's arts fraternity and abroad as a fine actor, he toured extensively in many of the company's productions. Among these were Asinamali, Lion of the East, Magic at 4 a.m (Johannesburg Civic Theatre, 1993) and Siyagiya (2012). He also had a role in the TV soap, Muvhango.


A memorial service for the late Bhoyi Ngema will be held in Durban on Friday 27 December at 2pm
