Bhoyi Ngema (19*-22 December 2013) was an actor and theatre entrepreneur.

Biography

The brother of Mbongeni Ngema, and one of the founder members of Committed Artists.

Contribution to South African theatre film, media and performance

Widely respected in South Africa's arts fraternity and abroad as a fine actor, he toured extensively in many of the company's productions. Among these were Asinamali, Lion of the East, Magic at 4 a.m (Johannesburg Civic Theatre, 1993) and Siyagiya (2012). He also had a role in the TV soap, Muvhango.

In 2013 he was the Musical Director for a new production of Asinamali (billed as Boy Ngema).

Tragically he was killed by a runaway stolen vehicle in Inanda near Durban on 22 December 2013.

He features as a character in the 2017 film of Asinamali (played by Sbu Ngema)
