Met Balbesit bring dramaturg en teater-entrepreneur Saartjie Botha rugby verhoog toe. Balbesit kyk met humor en deernis na die spel, manlikheid en die Suid-Afrikaanse speelveld vandag, en word uiteindelik ‘n pleidooi om burgerlike betrokkenheid. Van Suid-Afrika se opwindendste jong talent is op die verhoog te sien in ‘n stuk wat grense oorskry en nuwe betekenis gee aan manne wat hulle harte uitspeel. Dis soos die Curriebeker finaal - net op die verhoog.
