The Bahumutsi Players semi-professional political theatre group, active in the 1970s and 1980s.

(Gosher, 1988, calls them the Bahumatsi Drama Group, and they are also known as the Bahumutsi Theatre Company)

Originally founded and managed by Maishe Maponya in 1975 to perform his own work.

They performed Maponya's The Hungry Earth (19*) , Umongikazi: The Nurse (1983), Gangsters and Dirty Work (1984), ***

Ian Steadman worked with the group when they were invited to England for performances there.
