At the Edge is a play by Ronnie Govender (1935-2021).

Dramatized short stories on everyday life in Indian/Zulu/colonial Natal, first performed in 1990.

Published by Marx Publishers in the collection At the Edge and Other Cato Manor Stories in 1996.

Performance history in South Africa

1990: First performed by Charles Pillai at the Asoka Theatre, UDW 1990. First performance Durban Cane Grower's Hall March 1990.

1990-1991: First performance Baxter Studio 25 June 1990; The Little Theatre, Cape Town 15 April 1991.

1991: Went on a national tour and played at Standard Bank National Arts Festival, Grahamstown (starring Pat Pillai) and Edinburgh Festival in 1991. Performed again at the Natal Playhouse, 1997. Music composed by Siva Devar.
