(1949-) Actor for stage, television and film. Born in Kroonstad, he spent most of his childhood travelling between towns in the Orange Free State region as his father was a school teacher. Matriculated at the Hoërskool Menlo Park in Pretoria and completed his studies in drama at the University of Potchefstroom for CHE. Two years with PACT Playwork, and later with the main PACT company in productions of The Three Sisters, Twaalfde Nag ( Twelfth Night), The Cherry Orchard, and Charley se Tante (Charley's Aunt. Gradually became well known for his film and TV work, including the films Stander , and Afrikaans television drama series such as Vyfster (1984), Egoli, Dryfsand (2007), Erfsondes (2008).

Having painted much of his life, although with­out formal training, in later years he also achieved a successful parallel career as an artist with his landscapes, harvester scenes of the Cape, District six scenes and seascapes.

He is married to actress Annalise Bosch and their son Pieter Bosch Botha is following a career in theate.
