The Association of Drama Departments of South Africa was an association of university Drama Departments of South Africa founded in the 1980s at the behest of Robert Mohr and the staff of the University of Cape Town. Named the Vereniging van Drama Departemente van Suid-Afrika in Afrikaans, but had the single acronym: ADDSA, based on the English name.

It derived from an earlier, informal, Committee of Heads of University Drama Departments (CHUDD), and the new association was formed to give more representation to all staff, rather than only the heads or chairs of departments. For a while the two organiztions operated in parallel, untill CHUDD fell away.

The association later took in all tertiary training institutions of drama, theatre and performance as members.
