Asha Rambally (19**-). Performer and journalist, political activist.

Biography

She was one of the women who gave shape to the Black Consciousness Movement.She was the editor of Black Viewpoint and Black Review, both Black Community Programmes publicatons. Shortly after the death of Steve Biko in 1977 she was detained under the Internal Security Act but was released towards the end of 1978.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

She played the role of Bonita in the TECON presentation of Requiem for Brother X in 1972.
