Adapted from the classic 1950 Bette Davis film, All About Eve, and tells the story of the great Broadway star Margo Channing and her duplicitous understudy, Eve Harrington. The original Broadway production starred Lauren Bacall and opened at the Palace Theatre on March 30, 1970, playing a total of 896 performances and winning five Tony Awards, including one for Best Musical. A bimonthy magazine on theatre published by Otto Moloto and Clockworks Media Enterprises (Pty) Ltd. First launched as a Newton and Gauteng focused magazine, its second issue (02/2008) aims at the entire country and is on sale. It appears to be strongly focused on fine arts and the performing arts. The first national issue (guest edited by Jojokhala Mei), for example, includes interesting articles on King Kong (by Sol Rachilo), the State Theatre (Israel Nkate) , the Women in Theatre for Gender Equality programme (Samukelisiwe Mfuph) and The Actor’s Centre (Jojokhala Mei). It also carries extensive adverts for theatre and art courses, theatre companies and art galleries.
