Antonius Michael Ferreira was a boy of twelve and lived in Cradock when he first met [[André Huguenet]] and had the honour of being allowed to open and close the stage curtains during the touring party’s performance of ''[[Haar Tweede Man]]'' (1928).  However, he started his own acting career with [[Hendrik Hanekom]], when he had a role in ''[[Oom Paul]]'' (1935).  During this period he was also part of the cast of ''[[Tamboere in die Nag]]'' (1937), the first Afrikaans radio series.  He stayed with the Hanekoms until 1942, when he joined Huguenet for ''[[Absolom, My Seun!]]''  He was also Huguenet’s business manager for four years.  His last stage appearance was in ''[[Galgtou]]'' (1945), but he subsequently had a role in two films: ''[[Die Wildsboudjie]]'' ([[Arthur Bennett]] & [[Louis Knobel]]/1946) and ''[[Pantoffel-Regering]]'' ([[Ronald Brantford]]/1947).  He was married to actress [[Marie Tjaden]] (1922-1990), but they divorced in 1957.

Antonius Ferreira (b. **/**/1916[?] - d. **/**/1976) was an actor. Also credited as Tonius Ferreira.

Biography

Antonius Michael Ferreira was a boy of twelve and lived in Cradock when he first met André Huguenet and had the honour of being allowed to open and close the stage curtains during the touring party’s performance of Haar Tweede Man (1928). However, he started his own acting career with Hendrik Hanekom, when he had a role in Oom Paul (1935). During this period he was also part of the cast of Tamboere in die Nag (1937), the first Afrikaans radio series. He stayed with the Hanekoms until 1942, when he joined Huguenet for Absolom, My Seun! He was also Huguenet’s business manager for four years. His last stage appearance was in Galgtou (1945), but he subsequently had a role in two films: Die Wildsboudjie (Arthur Bennett & Louis Knobel/1946) and Pantoffel-Regering (Ronald Brantford/1947). He was married to actress Marie Tjaden (1922-1990), but they divorced in 1957.
