(b. Colesberg, 16/06/1887 - d. Cape Town, 28/02/1963). A medical doctor/academic, he was a member and later chairman of the society [[Ons Taal]] ("Our Language") in Bloemfontein. The society contributed greatly to cultural life, and the development of Afrikaans theatre in the city. Havenga and his wife Katie (née [[Kitty Maasdorp]]) later became important supporters of [[Hendrik Hanekom]]'s [[Toneelskool]] ("Theatre School") in Bloemfontein.<br />
